Kururin Tools - Gauge and Jig
thingiverse
The Kururin is a brand-new skill toy invented in Japan, made entirely from wood and crafted with precision. As it rolls along a solid, flat surface, its motion is mesmerizing, defying words to adequately describe it - you simply have to see it for yourself by watching a video! To create the perfect Kururin on a lathe, I've developed two essential tools that make the process much easier and more efficient. The first tool is called the "Kururin Gauge," which features all the critical dimensions on one convenient piece of plastic. The second tool is the "Kururin Sanding Jig," designed to produce flawless ends when using a disc sander. The two most crucial files are: * KururinGauge.pdf (laser cutter) or kururinGauge.stl (3D printer) * kururinSandingJig.stl Additional files are included for those interested in modifying the Kururin Gauge or Kururin Sanding Jig. To further assist you, I've created a short how-to video that walks you through the steps of making a Kururin on a lathe. If you're unsure about using the tools, watch this video and everything should become clear!
