The AU$63 million Kurilpa Bridge, initially known as the Tank Street Bridge, is a pedestrian and bicycle structure in Brisbane, Australia. It spans the Brisbane River, connecting Kurilpa Point in South Brisbane to Tank Street in the central business district. This multiple-mast, cable-stay bridge uses tensegrity principles for optimal balance between tension and compression components, resulting in a light yet incredibly strong design. It measures 470 meters long with a main span of 128 meters. The bridge incorporates 550 tons of structural steel and 6.8 kilometers of spiral strand cable. Its LED lighting system is powered by solar energy, providing a range of illumination effects. Stowe Australia handled all electrical work. As the world's largest tensegrity bridge, Kurilpa Bridge was constructed by Baulderstone Queensland Pty Ltd with contributions from Cox Rayner Architects and Arup Engineers. The 2017 SketchUp file is geo-referenced, ready for Thea Render 1.5, and includes 11 materials and textures.
