Kumihimo Disk - with beginner tutorial!

Kumihimo Enthusiasts Unite! Kumihimo is an ancient Japanese braiding technique that can be mastered with a Marudai or a Kumihimo Disk, like this one. As a seasoned Kumihimo artist, I've spent years perfecting my craft and trying out various disks. However, I consistently encountered the same frustrating problems: * Which direction was I rotating? * What thread is next? Frustrated by these obstacles, I would often find myself "unbraiding" threads until I figured it out. It was then that I realized there must be an easier way. That's why I created my own custom Kumihimo Disk, designed to make braiding a breeze. Here are the benefits of using my disk: * Easy to use * Easy to print * More fun, less struggle But how does it work? The large arrows in the middle indicate the direction of rotation, while the small arrows show you which thread to use next. The dots serve as visual guides, telling you exactly where to place your threads. In my MMU/Painted version, the dots match the color of the arrow for added clarity. For a comprehensive guide on how to get started with Kumihimo, check out my beginner-friendly tutorial below: https://youtu.be/HHZiS3pdkes This tutorial will not only teach you how to use my custom disk but also walk you through the basics of Kumihimo in 6 easy steps. Perfect for those new to this ancient art form! You can print three different versions of my disk: * A single-color small version * A single-color large version * An MMU2 version with five STL files, each featuring a different color All of these designs are quick and easy to print.
