Kumihimo Disk - with beginner tutorial!

Kumihimo: A Braid Beyond Measure Get ready to be amazed by Kumihimo, a Japanese braiding technique that can be mastered with ease using a Marudai or a Kumihimo Disk. I've been hooked on Kumihimo braids for years and have tried countless disks, but the same old problems kept popping up: Which direction was I rotating? What thread is next? I used to spend hours "unbraiding" threads until I figured it out, but then I thought, "There must be a simpler way!" That's when I decided to create my own disk. And boy, am I glad I did! My custom disk makes Kumihimo braiding a breeze. So, how does it work? The big arrows in the middle show you which direction to rotate, while the little arrows indicate which thread to use next. The dots on the disk provide an extra visual cue, helping you place your threads with ease. In my MMU/Painted version, the dots match the color of the arrow, making it even easier to navigate. Want to learn more? Check out my beginner's tutorial below, where I'll teach you Kumihimo in 6 easy steps. And if you're new to braiding, don't worry – this tutorial will have you hooked in no time! Now, let's get down to business! There are three versions of my custom disk for you to print: * A single-color small disk * A single-color big disk * An MMU2 version with five different colors (five STL files) All three options are quick and easy prints.
