Kumasogami Lava God Bust
thingiverse
This is a stunning bust extracted from my full-figured and diorama-timed model of Kumasogami, the lava god from Toho's 1994 film Yamato Takeru aka Orochi the Eight Headed Dragon. The complete diorama is available at: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/miniatures/sci-fi/kumasogami-the-lava-god Kumasogami is a somewhat obscure Toho kaiju, but boasts an innovative design that I really admired. The creature is composed of molten magma, which glows through cracks in his body. He's able to shape-shift somewhat in the film, and forms various deadly weapons during his intense fight scene. The complete diorama showcases Kumasogami in his bow and arrow form emerging from his gateway in the film. While the figure can be printed and painted in a variety of colors including blacks, reds, oranges, and yellows; I really designed him to be printed in clear resin on an SLA printer and lit from within using high-intensity LEDs. My complete build shown in the last gallery photo features this dramatic effect. However you decide to finish him, I hope you'll share your masterpiece with me. I always enjoy seeing how people approach creature painting and appreciate their unique perspectives. Note that this model contains only the head and a portion of the figure's upper torso. If you like the bust, consider purchasing the complete diorama for an even more immersive experience.
