Holiday memories from Cuxhaven :D ------------------------------------------------- The Kugelbake is a wooden beacon in Cuxhaven. Measured from the mean high tide to the middle of the small sphere, its height is 28.4 m. The term beacon goes back to the Middle Ages, when all sea marks – including lighthouses – were called that. It is the symbol of Cuxhaven and has been on the city's coat of arms since 1913. A previous building still served as a lighthouse; today the Kugelbake is only illuminated at night as a tourist attraction. -> Wikipedia
