Kubotan - original
thingiverse
Kubotan is a versatile self-defense tool that originated from the innovative designs of Sōke Takayuki Kubota in the late 1960s. When used as a weapon, its applications are comparable to those of the yawara stick or koppo stick. In self-defense scenarios, key targets include bony areas such as knuckles and forearms, sensitive parts like the bridge of the nose and shins, and soft tissues including the stomach, solar plexus, spine, temple, ribs, groin, neck, and eyes. The Kubotan is typically gripped with either an icepick hold for powerful hammerfist strikes or a forward grip for more precise stabbing, pressure point attacks, and seizing maneuvers. Users often employ it to harden their fists for punching, target vulnerable areas on an attacker's body, and gain leverage on the wrist, fingers, and joints. With attached keys, the Kubotan can function as a flailing tool, while its compact design allows it to attack any point that a finger can, with greater penetration due to its smaller surface area at the ends.
