Kryptonite Evolution Bike Lock Frame Mount
thingiverse
I wrestled with the Kryponite frame mount, so I designed my own (it's high time they revised this - it just doesn't work on many bikes). U-locks are far too heavy if you carry them in a backpack, so I looked into mounting it on the bottle cage screws. The bar can easily fit into a small under-saddle bag, but the U-lock will fit inside the frame. The challenge was to make it secure so that it wouldn't rotate and fall to one side. This design is based around the Evolution Standard 14mm thick U-lock, so it might work with some others in that series. Simply put it in at an angle from the side, straighten it to vertical and push down - the shaped end of the rod will lock into the bracket. I printed some prototypes in PLA and then a final version in PET with a 40% infill as it needs to be robust. I've used it very successfully for a while now, and I'm working on a design that can also carry the lock bar.
