We've misplaced the clip that keeps the waffle iron's two halves together at some point. This makes storing the appliance more inconvenient, but more importantly, it allows the fluffy waffle batter to push open the halves and spill out, causing poorly formed and undercooked waffles on top. The clip also serves as a handle to safely lift the hot lid, so you should push down gently when releasing it for easier handling. This design aims to be both ergonomic and secure, but we strongly recommend testing your part's strength before using it with a hot iron! A material that is strong, resistant to high temperatures, and has some flexibility is essential; I personally prefer Poly-Carbonate.
