This is a replacement part specifically designed for use with Krups 871 Espresso Machines or 872 Espresso Machines.\r\n\r\nLocated at the front end of the handle, near the basket, is a small plastic clip. Positioned near the tip of your thumb, it serves as a useful tool after brewing your drink. When you need to remove the grounds from the hot cup into a compost bin, simply flip this clip up and press it forward with your thumb. The clip will then press down on the hot metal rim of the grounds basket, keeping it securely in place while you thump it on the edge of the bin to dislodge the grounds.\r\n\r\nUnfortunately, I made the mistake of uploading this model before actually using it, and when I finally did use it, the clip snapped in two as soon as I tried to tap out the grounds. The experience was decidedly disappointing, to say the least. If I ever manage to acquire a CNC mill, I may attempt to reprint this part with that technology. In hindsight, it's clear that I should have anticipated the limitations of FDM printing and its inherent layer shearing issues, which ultimately led to the failure of this print.
