Krispina, Sisak's neighboring second story\ndruga polovina 2. st.\nmramor\ninv. oznaka: KS-36\nThe Arheološki muzej u Zagrebu carefully safeguards a mramorni portret of a woman whose stylistic and technological characteristics precisely match the second half of the 2nd century, when stone sculptures were significantly influenced by portraits of empresses like Faustine Mlađe, Lucile and Krispina.\nA preserved head, slightly smaller than natural size, is accompanied by a detached door and left ear, partially embossed hair, upper lips and nose. Her hairstyle is divided into two segments by a thin braid that separates into two branches which are then joined at the forehead. The front, frontal segment is completely smooth, while the rear, mandibular segment is divided into strands resembling grapevine tendrils that fall to the end of the skull. The ends of the strands are intertwined in a braid that encircles the mandibular part in a circular motion, through which the details of her hairstyle can be seen clearly. The braid is attached to the mandible, and the ears are not covered by a mass of hair.
