This is a page dedicated to the build of my Ender 5 plus, its still not complete so this page will see updates along the way. For this build it is recommended to have a metric bolt set mostly M2-M5, lock washers, a set of T nuts in various sizes, and the ability to crimp wiring. Some of the parts below I've designed or remixed for my printer, and others are links to other creators parts that I've used. Enclosure build is item #16. All parts in the enclosure unless you are only printing PLA should be printed in at least PETG or something with a similar or better heat resistance. Items outside the enclosure are dealers choice, though I've done the TFT70 case and V slot covers in PLA. 1. I've converted my hot end to a BIQU H2 on a X axis linear rail, mount can be found here. Linear rail is 450mm in length and a MGN12H. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5379142 2. With the extruder no longer at the back of the printer, I installed this filament sensor mount link below. I've since switched to a BTT smart filament sensor, but if you want to use the stock one this works good. Though found best results leaving the two bolts that hold the sensor to the mounts loose to prevent filament from getting hung up. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4815858 3. I've switched to a Big Tree Tech smart filament sensor, though I'm still trying to get it to work properly. But to prevent the filament getting hung up and have Pfte connectors on both sides to run Teflon tubing outside to a dry box eventually its a needed change. Also this has cable management to move the hot end wiring loom off of the rear 20x20 extrusion so my top enclosure will fit. Mount can be found here. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5925557 Remixed version for stock filament runout sensor with cable management for top enclosure to sit on rear 20x20 extrusion, like I made for the BTT smart sensor https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6033551 4. I've also converted my Y axis to linear rails, remixed adapters can be found here. Linear rails are 450mm in length. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5380428 5. For the X and Y belt tensioners I originally had some printed ones, but they kept breaking and had a limited adjustment. Currently I have a metal set that I got off of amazon. 6. I've installed a Big tree tech SKR 1.4 turbo, mounting bracket for installing in the stock case can be found here. For board installation check out Kersey Fabrications on Youtube. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5886626 7. I Originally installed a TFT35, remixed mounting bracket for the stock case can be found here. Also make sure to switch the Z axis increase and decrease Icons in the folder with the Icon images as there backwards for a ender 5 plus. And that is the Reprap dark icon's I'm using. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5886655 8. After I got the printer printing with the new main board, I upgraded to a TFT70 a great mount can be found below. For extending the cables, I found 2 meter 10 pin cables on Ebay. And I made the five pin cable myself, joining two 1 meter stepper motor cables together and re pining them in to 5 pin JST connectors. You only need four wires, the fifth loose wire on the board end is just for the reset pin and itis duplicated in the 10 pin connectors as my reset on the screen still works. If you want the reset pin, just run the extra wire. Also make sure to switch the Z axis increase and decrease Icons in the folder with the Icon images as there backwards for a Ender 5 plus. And that is the Reprap dark icon's I'm using. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4551454 9. With the stock screen mount empty, I designed a fan mount for extra cooling to the main board and the SKR 1.4 has a second cooling fan port. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5896283 10. I moved the electronics case to the rear of the frame, mounting brackets can be found here. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5918055 11. With the electronics case moved outside the frame, I used some 20X40 extrusions I had to brace the frame, I just used some standard 20X20 vslot corner brackets with T nuts to mount it. With my acrylic enclosure the stock filament spool holder no longer could be mounted in the corner, but I found it worked when mounted it on this brace though I had to shorten the spool holder and super glue it back together for it to clear the bed when under 350mm in the Z direction. Here's a printable option, the stock nut works with it. I used Spool_Holder_2B_V1_00.stl https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3646853 12. I upgraded my PSU cooling fan to a Noctua fan, part can be found below. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4821969 13. With the bigger PSU cooling fan I found a printable electronics cover replacement with a grille for the fan and I remixed it to have a second mount for a 40mm fan on the front panel. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5920785 14. Heated bed cable strain relief, a well designed bracket linked below. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4067316 15. I've also completely insulated the bottom of the heated bed, as only the center is on a stock Ender 5 plus. And I've upgraded to silicone spacers instead of springs and also upgraded to Aluminum leveling wheels. After having problems sourcing a replacement glass bed, I switched to a magnetic PEI sheet. All of the items in this section can be found on Amazon. 16. Enclosure: For a similar enclosure check out Teaching Tech on Youtube, Its done on an Ender 5, but the overall process is similar and greatly influenced my build.
