This 3D model was initially crafted using Sketchup 6 before being converted into multiple other 3D formats. Native format remains .skp with a 3dsmax scene that leverages 3ds Max 2016 and utilizes Vray 3.00 for rendering. Over the years, my Kramer Focus 6000 has undergone several transformations. Beginning from left to right is the original all-black stock version purchased in 1991 from a pawn shop. Initially, its body was rather beat up, but through meticulous sanding, I filled chips with wood putty and applied tung oil to create an unpolished yet striking natural finish that stood for roughly a year. I then embarked on refashioning the instrument by adding a new neck (positioned third from left). Nothing was wrong with the Kramer neck, but I yearned for a change in design - thus adopting a Stratocaster neck instead. This revised look remained in place for approximately ten years until I felt compelled to undertake another major makeover. To start this latest endeavor, I meticulously plugged up two pre-existing Strat pickup cavities and routed a new pickup space to accommodate a Bill Lawrence mini humbucker that had been patiently waiting for deployment over the past while. This strategic modification provided the instrument with enhanced sonic capabilities and aesthetic appeal. Furthermore, to impart a classic appearance akin to an older Kramer or a Pensa Suhr headstock, I deftly reshaped the original headstock to achieve this look. Last but not least, a fresh coat of paint brought about the realization that I wished for my Kramer Focus 6000 to resemble the iconic chrome hue sported by Joe Satriani's prized possession - his sleek, gleaming Ibanez guitar. Although my endeavors resulted in an unexpectedly different appearance than anticipated, as when attempting to achieve this high-shine chromed look it inexplicably transformed into a mottled grey tone upon applying the final clear coat layer and revealed numerous distinct streaks running across its surface, which strangely still strikes me as possessing undeniable style reminiscent of rich, dyed grey flame maple.
