Kraft transmitters have aged remarkably well and many are being restored to service with upgraded encoders and 2.4GHz transmit modules. Most Kraft-Hayes plastic components are extremely durable, defying a half-century of wear and tear. However, the RF meter remains a weak link, prone to cracking and electrical failure. The meter's unusual dimensions made finding a suitable replacement challenging, but jaymen successfully located an option manufactured in the USSR and marketed on an online auction site by a Romanian vendor. The only additional component required was an adaptor plate, which is designed to be permanently glued inside the transmitter. Screw holes are precisely set for 2mm, allowing for secure connections. To simplify assembly, I modified a couple of servo screws to attach the meter directly to the plate. The adaptor plate is intended to provide a seamless integration between the meter and the transmitter's internal components. The accompanying OpenScad code enables users to replicate this design and create their own custom adaptor plates.
