Thanks to the original designer @hitoriblog This was featured in his detailed article on how to solve the Z axis alignment problem on the KP3S linked below, but was never uploaded separately on Thingiverse. https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=ja&u=http://hitoriblog.com/kingroon_kp3s/docs/trouble_shooting/countermeasures_against_z-axis_problems/ I am uploading it here cause it helped me to solve my problem on the newly purchased KP3S 3.0 where I had around 0.5cm misalignment. The lead screw on the KP3S cannot be aligned properly cause the brass lead nut screw on the gantry does not have enough free movement. To counter this it must be flipped and installed with a spacer to allow more free movement to achieve proper alignment of the lead screw. Procedure: - remove the brass nut from the gantry. - print the spacer. - flip the brass nut and install the spacer, now the protrusion at the bottom of the brass not will not limit its free movement. - insert the lead screw, move the gantry to the middle position on the z axis and position the lead screw bottom so its center is in line with the stepper motor shaft center. - if you cannot align the lead screw cause the brass nut free movement is still limited despite the installation of the spacer, use a hand drill to enlarge the 4 fixing screws hole in the gantry by around 1mm each (check picture). - tighten the coupling at the bottom. - print and install an adjustable bearing block on top while keeping its screws loose and center the lead screw using a caliper measuring its position from the aluminum frame from the top and bottom. when you are satisfied that the lead screw is now aligned, fix the bearing block in its position. - now finally you can tighten the brass nut four screws gradually in a cross pattern. z axis stabilizer (bearing block) should only be installed on top when everything else is ALIGNED. it is not to improve your print quality, but to maintain it. it should be adjustable. they are useful when the lead screw brass nut have enough wear to introduce play/wobble.
