Koutoubia Minaret - Marrakech, Morocco
myminifactory
Welcome to Morocco! Marrakech's Minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque stands tall as a landmark in this Moroccan city. The Koutoubia (or Kutubiyya) Mosque is Marrakech's largest and most important mosque, once an imperial city and capital of Morocco. "Koutoubia" means booksellers, named after its location in what used to be the neighborhood where book vendors operated. Completed during Almohad Caliph Yaqub al-Mansour's reign (1184-1199), this minaret is the first of three sister towers; La Giralda in Seville, Spain, and the Hassan Tower in Rabat, Morocco, were modeled after it. The 77-meter-tall tower includes an 8-meter-tall spire on top, with each side of its square base measuring 12.8 meters long. Visible from 29 kilometers away, this iconic minaret is a testament to Moroccan architecture. MiniWorld 3D proudly presents this charming model, crafted from scratch using Autodesk Fusion 360, and dedicated to the people of Morocco.
