The creator of this design has experienced close calls with fires while operating printers, leading them to think deeply about fire safety. It is highly advisable not to store filament above your printer as it poses a significant risk. Comparing it to storing gasoline above a stove, if a hotend catches fire, the flames can easily spread to the reel of fuel and subsequently engulf the entire building. To prevent this, install a fire detector or auto extinguisher directly above the printer and keep the spool at a safe distance. They have also designed a stand for filament reels that works with their Mini Kossel printer, utilizing 608 skate bearings to ensure smooth unwinding by the extruder.
