Kossel Slider Carriage

Kossel Slider Carriage

thingiverse

This is an alternative carriage for the 20x20 mini Kossel. Designed to be used in conjunction with delrin/pom profile sliders from suppliers like Motedis http://www.motedis.co.uk/shop/Dynamics-Basics/Profile-Glide/Slider-B-Type-Slot-6::99999563.html. Sliders cost around £2.10 ($3.25 each) and are a more affordable solution than any other option I have found so far. The delrin slider is engineered to move panels of glass enclosed within 20x20mm profile aluminium frames along other lengths of 20x20 profile, thus making the hard part of manufacturing an item with the correct profile, that won't wear significantly over time, already accomplished. Sliders are also available for other sizes of aluminium profile, meaning this design can easily be scaled up for a larger delta printer or similar uses. The carriage attaches directly to the slider using three M4x20mm cap head set screws, SAE screws of a similar size could also be used. Sliders need to be drilled and tapped as they only come with pilot holes predrilled, making the carriages compatible with any similar sized cap head screw. You can see the full writeup of this item on my blog http://zebethyalprusa.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/mini-kossel-build-part-2-frame-again.html I have included both the STL file as well as the SketchUp file it was created from.
