kossel self-locking carriage for reticulating mounts
thingiverse
I admired the 3/16" steel recirculating bearings design's innovative style, but wasn't a fan of the original carriage mounts' reliability issues - belts kept slipping, and square grips broke off consistently. I preferred the self-locking carriage concept over the split groove design, so I merged mkeveney's mounting bracket portion with wuz23's carriage for a solid replacement that exceeded my expectations. This revised design has performed extremely well on my rig for nearly a month, allowing me to confidently claim its effectiveness and quality. Although it could benefit from some fine-tuning horizontally to ensure proper alignment, this upgraded assembly works smoothly without any slipping or jamming issues. If anyone would like to see evidence in the form of photos for proof, just let me know.
