The Red Effector is a magnetic rod effector designed for delta 3D printers. It integrates an angled magnet support system for 15mm diameter neodymium magnets, a high-performance hot end cooler, and a precision-crafted servo-actuated Z probe. The design also features strategically placed holes for securing backup strings between the effector and the carriage with maximum stability. Secure M3 nuts can be used to attach the hot end cooler to the effector for added protection. The latest revision is optimized for use with an E3Dv6 hot end or similar, one 40mm high-speed fan for efficient hot end cooling, and two powerful 4515 blower fans for rapidly cooling extruded plastic. A precision nano size RC servo controls the Z probe to deliver precise measurements. A 2300 opto endswitch is utilized for reliable Z probing. This design is compatible with the Kossel Red Carriage, which can be found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1225501. Original designs are available here: http://a360.co/1NPeWY1 http://a360.co/1NPeYiF http://a360.co/1NPf0XW To assemble, print the parts using either PLA or ABS filament; ABS is safer due to proximity to the hotend. Assemble everything together with M3 screws. For the Z probe: use a 2mm drill bit to precisely size the hole. Strong magnets near the effector require a customized Z-probe solution - solid copper wire bent into shape can be used effectively instead of regular steel Allen keys. A small screw added as weight to the probe rod will only make it worse. This setup uses a RAMPS controller board with Repetier firmware, and servos plug directly into the controller board. With the following configuration settings in Configuration.h, the probe deploys automatically: #define Z_PROBE_START_SCRIPT "M340 P0 S1550" #define Z_PROBE_FINISHED_SCRIPT "M340 P0 S1300 G4 P200 M340 P0 S-1"
