Kossel Pro - improved cooling
thingiverse
The nozzle cooler is designed specifically for use in delta printers that feature E3D V6 hotends. Its purpose is to provide enhanced cooling from every angle, thereby preventing uneven layer cooldown. I created this design with my Kossel Pro printer in mind, which is equipped with a BL Touch autoleveling probe, but it should be compatible with any printer that has the specified hotend or similar models. The radius of the cooling pipe provides sufficient space between the 3D printed component and the heating block. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend insulating your heating block with fireproof insulation, which can be easily found at a 3D printer store or online. There are three compelling reasons to do so: * To prevent heat deformations in the cooling pipe * To avoid cooling down the hotend and destabilizing the temperature PID controller * To prevent the heating air from warming up The design utilizes two fans: * A 30x30 mm axial fan for the hotend radiator, which helps to prevent filament upflow * A 50x50 radial fan (centrifugal) for print cooling, requiring a 12V power source and drawing 0.16A of current The 30x30 axial fan was included with my printer, while I opted for the radial fan due to its affordability and quiet operation. This fan delivers strong and well-oriented airflow, which is essential for efficient cooling. Both fans are strategically placed around the hotend to balance it out and avoid interference with the delta rods. If you can suggest any improvements or modifications to this design, please feel free to share your ideas!
