Kossel Mini Offset Top Mounted Filament Spool Holder

Kossel Mini Offset Top Mounted Filament Spool Holder

I appreciate the top-mounted Kossel spool holders I've seen on Thingiverse, but since my extruder is mounted on top and I have some larger-diameter spools like those from Hatchbox, I had to offset my center spindle forward for clearance around my extruder. Like elmuchcho (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:371881), I used a 3.5" HD bearing taken from an old Maxtor hard drive. I borrowed the spindle and centering cone ideas from CreativeTools' design at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:508896. To keep my spool as close to my printer's aluminum frame as possible, the support brackets were designed in two parts, allowing the triangular frame to sit lower inside the frame while still being printed in a way that doesn't expose it to delamination under filament weight. I hope this helps others with similar needs. Please let me know any suggestions for design changes – I'm always interested in how others would approach this differently, but I'm currently satisfied with my setup's performance.
