Kossel - mechanical switch mount for nylon autoleveling effector
thingiverse
I ordered a nylon effector with an autoleveling option, but there were no instructions on how to attach the switch. So, I designed a simple mount for a mechanical switch that would work perfectly for this effector. This design is specifically tailored for the Omron SS-5GL mechanical switch. If you're looking for other options, there are versions available for this same effector: one for an optical switch at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1191506 and another for a mechanical switch at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1310401. **Print Settings** * Printer: Kossel XL * Rafts: No * Supports: Doesn't Matter * Resolution: 0.1mm * Infill: 70% I printed this effector upside down and in two pieces at the same time due to its small size and lacking cooling. I also printed it without supports, except for the vertical holes where supports might be beneficial. **Post-Printing** To assemble the switch and mount, I used M2x20 screws, washers, and nuts. A spring was added to ensure a reliable return to the normal position of the effector. The metal strip of the switch was trimmed shorter to increase the space between it and the spring. Additionally, a new 2.5mm hole was drilled for the M3x20 switch triggering screw (see the last image). This modification moved the triggering spot closer to the trigger's "button" and reduced the impact of bending on the metal strip. To complete the assembly, I needed the following components: * 4pcs M2x20 screws (2 for switch-mount, 2 for mount-effector) * 8pcs M2 washers * 4pcs M2 nuts * 1pc M3x20 screw (for triggering the switch) * 1pc 5.5x38mm spring (trimmed to size)
