Kossel LED headlamp
thingiverse
I originally tried using something that mounts on the fan, which makes it slightly easier to install. At low heights, however, it was positioned too close to the print area, hiding rather than illuminating it. The borosilicate glass edge did acquire a fascinating glow. I then employed this design, which is mounted higher, thereby casting an even illumination across the print surface. Instructions Requires an 80mm, 12-volt LED ring similar to this one. This assembly is suitable for the "stock" effector and fan shroud. To fabricate all of these components, I use ABS, due to its heat-resistant properties. The headlamp mounting point on the fan shroud is simply welded with acetone. Clearance testing has been performed using only the stock configuration (J-head and 40x40x10mm fan). Ring Positioning Note the location of the wire solder insertion point indentation, then insert the LED ring accordingly to achieve a flush fit. If a different ring is employed, modifications to the source code will be required (the STL file includes indentations for chip resistors and the wire solder insertion point on the referenced 24-LED ring).
