Kossel Delta Marble Mechanism
thingiverse
I have stopped using this mechanism due to the plastic "fingers" losing their springiness over time and resulting in increasing slack. I experimented with both ABS and PLA materials without success. Perhaps someone will have better luck with other materials. Let me know about any results. Carrier, arms and platform for 3D Delta printer featuring child's marbles as universal joints. Printing is easy and cost-effective due to this design. The mechanism has zero play so far but remains to be seen how it holds up over time. Assembly of the system requires minimal effort and takes seconds literally - a snap! I created a video showing the mechanism in action: https://youtu.be/7Wg3nl67Hnk Note that the current carriage lacks provisions for an end stop screw. Sorry about this. Edit 1: V2 Carriage upgrade added with modifications including wider rails which required adjustments to bearing holders, relocated lower cable tie holder, and a platform for triggering endstops. Instructions: Printed with a 0.2mm layer height using PLA. Arms consist of two units that are bolted together using 3mm bolts forming one arm in total. Mouse ears were added to prevent middle points from curling up; those can be simply removed when necessary. Claws designed for +-16mm marbles, allowing for a snug fit without over-tightening - lubrication is optional, as it was used none.
