This week I engineered a set of glass bed clamps for a Kossel Mini with a 200mm round glass bed that are fully compatible with a force sensitive resistor bed leveling system. The clamps consist of two printed pieces, two M3x20 screws, two M3 wingnuts, and two 1/4" x 13/32" compression springs. These springs enable you to finely adjust the tension of each clamp on the bed so that the glass is securely held without being overly tightened and inadvertently triggering the resistors. Furthermore, I have discovered that adjusting the tension on each clamp can help determine exactly how much force is required to activate the resistor. The pass-through holes allow for precise positioning even when the clamp is fully assembled. When installing the clamps, ensure that a washer is used in the mounting slot to prevent binding and to achieve correct screw depth. Print Settings Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .1mm Layers Infill: 30% Rectilinear Notes: The clamps were printed on a FlashForge Creator Pro with 30% rectilinear infill, .2mm coasting at ends, Hatchbox ABS @ 230C, Clean Glass bed @ 110C, Cooling fan @ 100% for layers 2 and above, 1x8 outline 0mm offset brim to prevent curling. Post-Printing Use a razor blade to remove printed brim before assembling the clamps. How I Designed This Engineered in Autodesk Design 123D.
