Koss PortaPro adapter for Oculus Quest

Koss PortaPro adapter for Oculus Quest

This is a design I came up with for mounting headphones to the Oculus Quest headset. The headset itself has yet to be received, so testing fit is still pending. Special thanks are due to Thingiverse user Jerware for the original design and Quest strap profile that made this possible. I've adapted the arms from his design specifically to work seamlessly with the Koss PortaPro headphones. This model requires printing the socket piece with TPU and the rest can be printed using PLA or PETG materials. The socket piece needs to be superglued to the bracket, while the bracket is secured shut with an M2 screw. Check out the pictures to get a clear idea of how it's assembled. If you don't print the socket with TPU (I used Shore hardness 95A), the ball won't be able to be pressed in properly. These designs are intended to be rotated backward for storage purposes only. Only the ball piece needs supports, and I printed it with enough perimeters that there is no infill - about 10 perimeters with a 0.4mm nozzle - otherwise it's not strong enough. I plan on making a few more ball pieces with different sizing for the arm holes as they're a bit loose and will upload them when I get the chance. Feel free to ask questions in the comments if you need help with printing or assembly, and don't hesitate to modify this design however you'd like! Edit 5/20/19: The Quest_strap_bracket has been updated to version 2. Overall size increased to add strength and certain hard edges have been rounded. Socket.stl should be glued to the side with the larger hole, and the head of an M2 screw should fit almost flush inside the exterior hole. I'll update photos of this new design once it's printed and glued. Edit 5/22/19: The Quest_strap_bracket has been updated to version 3. Profile fits the Quest strap well and snugs up tightly with an M2 screw. I suggest "tapping" the hole first with an M2 and applying a little bit of heat to help form the threads. Big thanks are due to Thingiverse user hypereven for testing the socket out with PLA instead of TPU. Application of light heat to the socket allowed just enough flex to let the ball through, which is great news if you can't print with TPU!
