Koss KSC75 - Rift S Headphones

This was inspired by Jeremy's great Koss Porta Pro Headphone Holder, found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3615447. For those with uniquely shaped heads or misaligned ears, this design accomplishes the same task using the more affordable Koss KSC75 Clip On Headphones and provides increased adjustability through a ball and socket joint mounted on the headset. The phones can also be positioned just off the ears if preferred, making it more comfortable for some users. As Jeremy suggested in his original text, these headphones will flip outward like the Rift CV1 to facilitate easier headset donning/removal. The Koss headphones can currently be obtained for under £19 at Amazon UK or under $15 at Amazon USA, significantly less than the Porta Pro's price of about £33/$34. You'll notice in the photos that the original ear clip is retained but cut off where the metallic part meets the plastic housing. This modification allows the clip to fit snugly into the 3D printed holder, and a decent pair of pliers can easily accomplish this cut. You can discard the silicone part intended for over-the-ear use. The cable clip on the left side of the Rift can also be removed to provide more space for the new clamp. I've incorporated a new cable guide to support the DP/USB cable, and I use velcro cable ties to secure the cable towards the rear of the headset, allowing it to drop down my back instead of obstructing my view on the left side. This is not essential but can be useful. The Koss headphone cable is, naturally, too long. I've simply bundled it up and attached it to the Rift DP/USB cable with another velcro cable tie. It would be neater if you could shorten it, but I'm not skilled enough in soldering to attempt this modification.
