Koss KSC75 Closed Back Mod
thingiverse
Closed back mod for KSC75, has a hole for mmcx connector, and posts that fit into the top perfectly. I highly advise using a heat gun to shape it carefully, taking care not to damage the fragile driver - I've personally broken a pair in the process. You don't have to attach it, but applying a small amount of superglue or epoxy to the flat areas is recommended. When gluing, ensure you avoid the holes and store it upside down to prevent glue from dripping onto the driver. If you do decide to attach it, make sure the pads aren't hidden under the housing, or you won't be able to replace them. This mod changes the sound in several ways: it boosts the bass, makes the sound warmer, and reduces sound leakage - although don't expect miracles. I believe this mod enhances the KSC75's appearance and improves the bass without compromising what makes them great. I've also included a step file and f3d file so you can customize it with your preferred logo or design. EDIT: October 2, 2020 I'm confident that I've completed the design now. The file you need is called "ksc75 full closed final 2". I used the following connectors: Universal pin socket Female seat Built-in thread nut Mmcx pure copper gold plated copper. EDIT: October 25, 2020 It turns out I was wrong - but I should be done now. I had to completely rework it and provide four files in this package because the original design had issues at 2800hz, resulting in a very painful sound. But it's been fixed, so don't worry about that. I strongly recommend using either the full version or the regular one. The full one has no cutouts, and both versions sound great based on my short sound test.
