Korure / mottled petrel (P. inexpectata) femur
sketchfab
Left femur from a korure or mottled petrel (Pterodroma inexpectata) specimen, now preserved at Auckland War Memorial Museum under accession number 13510. A digital replica of this fossilized bone was crafted by Emma Holvast, Simone Giovanardi and Daniel Thomas using advanced technology. They employed a HP SLS-3 3D scanner paired with HP 3D scan 5 software to capture precise details. Post-processing in Blender 2.8x further enhanced the digital model. The longest axis of this bone measures 31.1 millimeters in length.
