This case is designed specifically for outdoor enthusiasts who own a Konstruktor camera. It features an enclosed hard-shell with removable top and lens covers, allowing for easy access to take photos on the go. The quick release buckles on both sides enable removal of the top cover, while the rear of the case includes a strap attachment for secure carrying. Additionally, the lens cap has a fitting alignment with the front case body for added convenience. The case was created using Solidworks and rendered in Keyshot. The design process involved top-down modeling with in-context part modeling for sketch geometry that fits around the 3D model of the Konstruktor camera. Surfaces were then used to form a shell, leaving room for connection points, seams, and buckles. Final detailing features, such as non-slip texturing and seam joints, were added before splitting the design into multiple bodies for connection. A 2-color 3D print prototype was created for design review purposes, with a plan for final manufacturing via a 2-shot injection mold. The case will be available as a deluxe version with a Konstruktor camera or sold separately. Additional clever features to consider include hinges for the top body that fold away from the optics, leashes for loose parts like the lens cap, and a neck strap using existing d-rings for easy carrying.
