Kokeshi Dolls

These Japanese-inspired dolls aim to replicate their traditional wooden counterparts from Japan. In that country, skilled artisans crafted these dolls on a potter's wheel using hand tools to carefully shave down the figures. As a child, I recall visiting my grandmother and admiring dolls similar to these at her home. They were typically displayed during special occasions like Children's Day in Japan. I created these dolls as a tribute to Japanese culture, infusing it with modern flair. To bring these dolls to life, simply print them out and then adorn them with unique designs using paint. Classic motifs often include floral patterns and geometric shapes. Since the dolls are solid objects, they can be easily enlarged or shrunk in size. However, the top-heavy kokeshi design might necessitate adding weights inside while printing the model to maintain its stability and keep it upright.
