The Koenigsegg CCX is a mid-engined sports car by Koenigsegg Automotive AB, designed to meet global safety and environment standards for entry into the US market. To achieve this, many modifications were made to the CCR model, including replacing the Ford Modular engine with a Koenigsegg engine that runs on 91 octane fuel and meets Californian emission standards. The CCX was unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, featuring body alterations for US regulations and a new 4.7L twin supercharged V8 engine capable of producing 806 PS (593 kW; 795 hp) and 920 Nm (679 lb-ft) of torque when running on 91 octane gasoline. A total of 49 CCX-Series cars were produced between 2006 and 2010, including 30 CCX, 9 CCXR, 6 CCX/CCXR Edition, 2 CCXR Special Edition, 2 CCXR Trevita, one crash test car, and one factory test car. All CCX cars have since been upgraded to CCXR-spec. The name CCX stands for Competition Coupé X, marking the 10th anniversary of the first CC vehicle's completion in 1996.
