Kodama: An array of three Insta360 Air cameras

thingiverse

Kodama, a camera system named after the tree spirits it closely resembles, integrates three Insta360 Air cameras into a small mount that minimizes parallax and ensures all areas in the 360-degree view are captured by at least two cameras. Capturing three 3008x1504 video streams simultaneously over USB is challenging for most laptops and desktop computers. However, the resulting image data enables computing of enhanced resolution, high dynamic range (HDR), and image data with finer temporal resolution supporting Time Domain Continuous Imaging (TDCI). This design was discussed in Lessons from Design, Construction, and Use of Various Multicameras at Electronic Imaging 2018.
