Kobayashi Fidget Cube with hinge supports
thingiverse
I really liked the Kobayashi fidget cube remix by markinthebox and printed several of them in PETG, but I always had problems with the hinges warping and breaking loose when printing in PLA. I added some very small supports to the outer edges of the "air printed" hinges to prevent them from curling up, and after several failed attempts with the original model the first print of this remix was successful! Photos show the hinges of the "all hinge support" model just after printing, with no cleanup and no cutting they move smoothly. I really didn't do much here so all credit goes to Kobayashi and Markinthebox, but I think it could be helpful for others having trouble printing. If you are still having trouble with the hinges curling on the "inside" side of the hinges, let me know and I can add supports there too. I wasn't sure if they would need to be cut loose to move the cube when i designed it so I only put them on the outside, but they broke loose by hand just fine on my test print. UPDATE: - Included a new file "Kobayashi Fidget Cube all hinge supports" which has supports on both inner and outer hinge edges. I recommend using this model as it prints even better. - Minor update to the model with supports on outer hinges (rotated some of the supports so there is less exposed to view)
