Customize your 3D-printed z-axis couplings with a knurled design for improved grip and fine-adjustment capabilities on stepper motors with 4mm or 5mm shaft diameters. The SCAD file is fully parametrized, allowing adjustments to motor shaft and threaded rod diameters, outer profile, height, number of grub screw holes, and knurls. Ready-to-print STL files are available for both M8 (Mendel) and M5 (i3) threaded rods. An updated version with three nut traps on each side offers even more precise alignment by adjusting the three grub screws individually. Print z-couplings using ABS with 0.25mm layers and 0.56mm extrusion width, ensuring tight holes for perfect cylindrical shape. Secure the motor shaft and threaded rod to the coupling using M3 grub screws and screw nuts inserted in the provided nut cavities, which are also designed to be tight for better grip.
