Knuckle Joint

Knuckle Joint

grabcad

Humans design knuckle joints as pin joints that join two circular rods together securely. To assemble this joint, one rod's end is shaped into an eye and the other's end is transformed into a fork with a second eye. The rod's eye end is aligned perfectly with the fork end of the other rod before a pin is inserted through the holes to secure it in place using a collar and a taper pin (Fig. 6.15). Once constructed, these rods are free to rotate around the cylindrical pin easily.
