This is a dummy entry for the Knox3DP / Knox Makers 3D logo design contest for KnoxDevs. Not really an entry, just for kicks. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: MendelMax Rafts: Yes Supports: No Notes: Resolution doesn't matter so much; maybe just consider solid infill. Definitely recommend rafts, lots of surface area here. Post-Printing Wear it You printed it? Kewl beanz. Wear it! Add a string or necklace, I guess. Selfie If you actually printed this and turned it into a necklace, I fully expect a picture to be posted. How I Designed This EPS >> high res PNG >> Inkscape >> Trace bitmap >> Remove fill >> 1px stroke width only >> save as SVG I took the EPS provided of the logo and converted to high res PNG (~5k x 5k pixels). Used Trace Bitmap in Inkscape, removed the fill color, and added a plain black stroke width of 1 px. Saved as SVG. Wikimedia commons image of a 3.5 floppy >> ungroup >> save individual items as separate SVGs I ran a filetype:svg Google search for floppy disks, found a Wikimedia Commons image. Image source: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/db/3_5_floppy_diskette.svg Imported the SVG into Inkscape. Removed all fill, made everything plain black 1 px width stroke. Ungrouped everything. Saved each graphic element as different SVGs. import SVGs into your fave 3D modeling software Assemble, change x/y/z axis dimensions. Used some elements as negative space to create holes or imprints. Export as STL, upload here. I cheated and used TinkerCAD but you get the idea.
