Knob with captured nut
youmagine
I needed two knobs for an M8 allthread that would secure my table saw joining and tapering sled perfectly. This clever design employs a captured M8 nut, which I insert before covering the entire assembly with its outer layer. To pause the g-code at the right moment, I use M600, allowing me to get everything just right. I've since utilized this design in numerous other projects, and it's held up amazingly well under heavy use.
