Knob for the lid of a (Creuset) pot
thingiverse
The knob on a Le Creuset pot lid broke. Here is a new one. I inserted an M6 nut into the knob. The M6 nut measures 10mm between flat sides of its hexagon and is 5mm thick, leaving 1mm for extra space. The key to this process is pausing the print when the cavity for the nut is complete. Have a look in your slicer and search for the layer where the hexagon turns into a circle. It's just before the circle begins that you need to insert these commands: G91; use relative positioning, G1 Z20; raise nozzle 20mm (or more), adapt as needed, M117 Insert nut; display message on LCD, M0; pause - continue with a pushbutton or via Octoprint, G1 Z-20; return to printing position, G90; switch back to absolute positioning. I have added my G-code file, created for a 0.6mm nozzle and 0.2mm layers. The stop point is just before starting layer 63.
