Knob - 1/4-20 threads
thingiverse
I was on the hunt for a couple of knobs to complement my woodworking Jig, but Thingiverse didn't quite deliver what I was looking for initially. However, upon closer inspection, I realized that I could easily create my own knobs. The design calls for threads that extend almost all the way up to the top of the knob, with a chamfered thread opening to prevent any rough edges from interfering with the bolt's movement. A standard 1/4-20 thread pattern is specified. One clever aspect of this design is the option to drill a shallow hole at the top if you need the bolt to pass through. To achieve this, it's essential to exercise caution when holding down the part before drilling, as excessive pressure could compromise its integrity. I opted for clear PLA to create these knobs, which not only provides excellent clarity but also adds a touch of elegance to my woodworking Jig.
