Knitters Wand

Knitters Wand

thingiverse

This is a simple transport box for your knitting needles when they're in use. I'm unsure what the right name would be, but in my handmade crafts group in Germany it's called "Zauberstab" - which translates to magic wand - as you can put your needles with the attached project into it and avoid the risk of stitches falling off the needle. The standard size (which is sometimes available at local yarn stores) features an inner diameter of 15mm and a length of 150mm. This fits nicely with 150mm long needles up to 3.5mm in diameter, along with their attached projects. I've uploaded two files for the standard size (with a wall thickness of 1mm), as well as the OpenSCAD file so you can customize it to your needs. I personally printed another one in 25mm diameter, 200mm length, slot-width of 10mm and slot-length of 130mm to fit my 4.0mm needles perfectly when knitting a hat.
