Knitt Tidy
thingiverse
Got to stay busy next week, so I figured I'd keep my hands and mind active by knitting some holiday decorations. So I needed a way to keep my scissors, knitting needles, and darning needle organized... This one works with 4mm needles - you can adjust the dimensions in the scad file. h = 10; height of the thing scisorsW = 3; width of your scissors scisorsD = 8; depth of your scissors darn = 2.5; diameter of your darning needle needle = 4; diameter of your knitting needles I printed this with filament using a 0.8mm nozzle and 0.4mm layer thickness. If you want to use the trick of getting an even number of threads in your walls, change nozzle_diameter and layer_height in the scad file. You need rodsandholes.scad in the same directory - it has a set of modules for rods (outside dimensions entered as diameter) and holes (inside dimension entered as diameter). It's all about cylinders being polygons and needing across points for rods and across flats for holes.
With this file you will be able to print Knitt Tidy with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Knitt Tidy.
