This remix of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1826018 is created for print without support. The Anubis head creates most problems for printing since its slicer generated support should be based on the surface of the figure, which would require some post-processing with sandpaper or alike. Two figures are printed at once - it has clear logic. But they also share an added support model. Updated: lines support better envelops the head. 01/17/2017 - Update 1 - Support lines step is reduced from 1.5mm to 1.25mm to better match the supported figure. The support column wall thickness is made 0.5mm in all parts - fixed. 01/18/2017 - Update 2 - Support lines envelop is rounded for better quality of the chap print. Support is made wider to reduce artifacts in newly supported location. This seems like it's the final variant, because update 1 already shows satisfactory results with low post-processing. 01/21/2017 - Removed less successful support models. Only upd 2 was left. 05/01/2017 - Uploaded single figure with support by request. Print Settings Printer: JGAURORA Z - 605S Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: Layer 0.1 mm Nozzle 0.4 mm Infill: 20% Notes: The support model is designed with thin walls considering only one nozzle size - 0.4mm (the walls were specified as 0.5mm), which is printed as single shell in one pass. Artifacts of print without slicer support are small and are all located on the back. They can be easily post-processed if required. I'm using ABS for the chess set print, 250C, no fan, 20 sec per layer min (I setup Cura plugin to switch fan on at 50% during ears print since they are thin and may melt and lose their form). I used raft with 3 layers of print surface and 0.05mm gap between last raft layer and the model. The usual gap for PLA is 0.15mm, but it doesn't work for ABS at all - the model detaches from heatbed. While 0.05mm works very well for some sorts of ABS. I chose 0.2mm for first layer of the model, but any other first layer over raft should work. Post-Printing Remove the support model. If ABS is used I would consider to use acetone for post-processing of the whole chess set. How I Designed This I used well known 'import' keyword in OpenSCAD and other embedded primitives of OpenSCAD.
