Knife with ballistic capabilities

Knife and baton with optional spring that adds ballistic capability. Capable if inflicting serious damage at short range with the spring. I've had a pencil sketch of this for years, and used them to do this as a learning project in SW. I've done lots of woodworking in SW before, but this is my first metal project. Working in metal requires many more skills than wood! Wish I knew how to mate things so the springs would compress and be under tension. Would welcome any input on that, or any other suggestions on improving the project. The computer does not have a SW approved card, so the renderings are not too good. BTW, it is illegal in the US to possess both the knife and the spring. It comes under BATFE regulations, and penalties are typically worse than rape. WTF!!!
