The original fragile porcelain base (Leviton 125V, 25A) has been prone to breakage over the years due to accidental mishandling. This sturdy PLA base works flawlessly and serves as a budget-friendly alternative. Since PLA is unable to withstand high heat levels, this base should not be used with high voltage or current applications. Nevertheless, it is perfectly safe and durable for use in classroom settings where low voltages (1.5V - 6V) are utilized.
