There's an update over here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4658514 Things you need to get started: 8mm rod - one long and two shorter ones will do, I've got a 500m roll and two 200mm pieces. 8mm linear ball bearing sharpening stone M3 nuts and screws, plus four M4 screws; grab these at your local hardware store You know the feeling when you can't live without a super-sharp knife for chopping? I've seen some amazing designs on Thingiverse, but there was always something that bugged me. These designs required tons of filament and took hours to print, and they came in two versions: Some tiny designs with a sled to hold your knife at the right angle - the stone stays still while you move the knife. And then there were the big designs with rods, clamps, and a fixed knife that moves against a stationary stone; these seemed like the better option, but I worried about the stone flying off and crushing my toes. So I mixed and matched to create a new design where the stone stays put and the knife glides against it. I've been sharpening knives for years now, and this setup has made me way faster and more efficient - my knives are razor-sharp! Now, my design isn't perfect yet; I'm still tweaking it to make it easier and cheaper to print. Update 21/03/20: I just added a new attachment that uses a magnet (60x10x3mm) to hold your knife in place - way better than clamps! Stay tuned for more updates!
