I prefer the motion of the flexi-hinges because it feels smooth but I notice that fixed hinges can be adjusted to perfect tension and provide more noticeable movement. With this specific design, I used hot-glue to attach the stump to the socket, a spot where the earlier version typically broke after using it for a week, so I went on to implement a snap-in style later on.
