Knee replacement for Monster High dolls

My daughter is a big fan of the Monster High dolls, and sometimes she manages to brake their legs, arms or hips.

Daddy to the rescue to fix them :)

This is a knee articulation replacement should fit all (?) with some preparations.

Print instructions

Printing

import all three parts to slicer

rotate knee_p2 to stand on flat

best is to duplicate all parts in case one fails

enable brim these are small parts!

I used standard 0.2 fast settings with brim enabled, Prusament Galaxy Black PLA

Assembly

Some Notes: The usual way the knee brakes on these toys is by forcing the joint to rotate sideways ie left to right looking the knee from the front. This usually separates the lower part of the leg on top of the "ring". YMMV

You will have to clean up the broken parts first, I did as follows:

Lower leg:

on the lower leg inner knee part there should be a spot where a rod has been inserted to allow the knee to rotate up and down. This needs to be removed so use a 3 mm drill to drill it out, go trough to the other side.

after drilling you should be able to use a pliers and some moderate force to pull out the part in form of a ring

insert the new ring marked knee_part1 with the small notch facing forward and the longer part up.

insert the locking pin marked as knee_part3 in the 3mm hole to hold the ring in place

Upper leg:

you will have to drill the remaining bits of the old knee mount out in order to be able to insert the new mount

I used a smaller drill first to make sure the hole is centered (3 mm should do) then using the hole as a guide I have drilled it to 6mm making sure not to damage the outside

finally you should be able to insert the part marked knee_part2 and fix it into place with super glue.

let it dry before inserting the lower leg and clicking it in

Good Luck!
