Perform knee bends for an effective lower body workout that targets and strengthens leg muscles. This exercise is also known as squats, and can be done with or without weights to increase difficulty. To perform a knee bend, stand with feet shoulder-width apart, then slowly bend the knees while keeping the back straight, until thighs are parallel to the ground. Finally, push through the heels to return to standing position.
